Kid's Show at Raffles Place

A pretty scary act to hang yourself up in the air with just 2 sets of long cloth. I bet the cloths is thick but from the distance that I was at, it looks like a soft silk or polyester cloth to me because it was shiny. She is heavy too for her size but she seems so light up in the air, swinging herself. Being so agile, flexible and defying gravity.. phew.. I salute her. She has the strength to pull herself up. I wonder if she gets a splitting headache everytime after a show? I know I will!

Big Boy's Toys

I love Audi. Everytime I see an Audi car, I just feel like melting. Why? I just don't know why.

Some of the bikes that we exhibited on the Motor Show. Imagine all the people who went for the show. Most of them are definitely avid bikers. The attires that they were all wearing are leather bounded, boots, full-face helmets. Not to mention tattoos on their skins (some of them).

Those crowds are the real bikers all over Singapore. Amazing. The sound of the engines roaring.... Vroom.. vroom... vroom...
Neh... I love bikes. I love big bikes, but I am not allowed to ride one because it is too dangerous and I have witnessed a motorbike accident before and it is gruesome. I don't want to remember the accident. Riding a bike is cool, but getting into an accident is so uncool. Horrible. Highly exposed to all sorts of dangers. Kids... if you are ever reading this, never try or think to owning a bike. Best to ask your parents to get you a car, so much safer.

Singapore Flyer

Singapore Flyer is similar to the ferris wheel in London and Eye of Malaysia. Basically you are inside a capsule and the wheels turned around and you enjoy the view. Well, it is my first time seating in such a large ferris wheel. The largest I had sat is the one in Genting Highlands, for kiddies. Yeap... kiddies ferris wheel. Embarassing? Nope, I do not feel embarassed at all.

The ticket costs around SGD30.

Spectacular view of the wheel before entering the vicinity.

This is the lady who had her first time seating in a large ferris wheel. The audio headband is actually given to all before boarding the capsule. The audio tells you the story/history of the place as the wheel circles.

View from the capsule before the wheel goes up. Amazing! Imagine who would have guess to invent a ferris wheel to allow us to enjoy the view. What a creative mind.

View inside the capsule. I love this cube because it is air conditioned. It is spacious to fit many people. I am not sure how many but there were 5 of us altogether when we boarded this capsule.

That is the dock. The is where it controls the flow of the sea water into the rivers of Singapore.

Sky scrapers of Singapore.
Fly-over above the river.

My cameraman... and also my darling. Cute eh?

Capsule below us. This is pretty scary because it makes you feel like you are floating.

The 2 domes (shape of an eye of an insect, at least to me.) is Esplanade. This is where it houses musical theatres, orchestras, plays, jazz bands and so forth.

Capsule in front of us.

Ferris wheel/capsules above me. Taking this picture way below it is pretty scary because anything can happen. Who knows if you are so unlucky and something just drops right from above you but not to worry because I am pretty sure they have thought of all the safety requirements.

The free feeder bus that takes us from the Flyer to the bus-stop opposite of Peninsula Plaza and St Anne's Church at City Hall area.
Overall, I had a fun time boarding the Singapore Flyer. I might want to try another time during the night time. I want to see how it looks like during the night. I bet it is much spectacular comparing to the day. I guess, it will be another SGD30 to burn. Haha... Actually SGD60 because it is 2 of us but well, it is a small price to pay to get a spectacular view.

A Day Out in Compasspoint

It has been raining the whole day. The sky is grey and it drizzled the whole day. Nevertheless, we went out for our lunch cum dinner at Compasspoint, Sengkang. It not a new place but then it is the best place in Sengkang to eat, at least to our standard. There isn't any other choices here. We used to have Sakae Sushi or Swensen's for lunch/dinner but due to economy downturn, we are doing our best to spend less on lavish meals unless it is for special ocassions.

To our surprise, there was a stage show for kids about the time we reached. We manage to catch a glimpse of the show. Quite entertaining and it is really nice to hear the laughter of children. Somewhat a symphony to my ears.... (Is there something I am feeling...??? ... Neh....)

Halfway through the show, we headed to Kopitiam for lunch. Well, Kopitiam is basically a food court in Compasspoint, and it is also a franchise throughout the entire Singapore. This is what we had for lunch today...

Tomyam Fish with rice

Dumpling

Overall, the tomyam is okay but I will never order tomyam in that pot ever again. Imagine this.. after KY mentioned to me about how the workers might clean the firestarter off the pot. It really maked me wonder if they really clean it the right way. I really think it was not being done the right way. So... with all the poisonous chemical and health conscious fuss in Singapore, now maybe this could be among the rootcause of the increasing cancer trend in Singapore. How ironic and contradicting. Yeah.. they say.. the best food in life is always the dirtiest, which is basically bad for health... but seriously, who cares? No one cares is they love food.
As for myself, if it doesn't hurt my tummy and it is clean food then I will consume it. :-)

Royal Copenhagen Tea House in Takashimaya, Orchard

This was a meal I had with colleagues (Rina and Kai Hoh) at Orchard. We had our night out right after work. It was one of the days where we felt so mood-off with work and just wanted to leave office as early as possible. So we left immediately at 5.30pm without anyone noticing us. Haha... After digging through my mobile, I finally decided to post this.

(Pictures taken with Sony Ericsson W880i)

Chocolate Walnut Cake.. Highly recommended!

Peach Cheese Cake... Recommended with plenty of water.

Green Tea Cake ... the signature cake

I do not like the green tea cake because of the bitterness in green tea powder. According to my aunt, she loves this because it is healthy, the benefits in green tea. I do not find it healthy at all but then again, one man's meat poision is another man's medicine.

Salmon something.. really cannot remember this.. Recommended.

Hot chocolate

The place is quite nice. Ambience itself feels very danish. Even the chinas are from Denmark. The design on the chinas are very country. I do recommend friends to go over to this place for a meet but a warning, the place is a little pricy.

My Birthday Meal...on my day..

Yay.. finally the awaiting day has come.. We didn't do much but basically just went for a movie (Four Christmases) and a dinner.. You think it is boring? Not really.. but the boring part is.. you are expecting places should be less crowded so that you will be happy shopping.. but no..... it is as crowded as a normal weekend.. How ironic is that. I was thinking.... "10am.. still have this many people on a Wednesday in an MRT?" You know the feeling like in Kuching where you take leave on a weekday, it means freedom cause there will be very little people around. Here in Singapore, it is so unexpected to see many people around on a weekday. What more.. when I was trying out clothes, I have to queue to try out my clothes.. dang.. bottomline.. I didn't shop for clothes which I actually planned to for my birthday..

Anyways, I was treated a nice dinner at "White Dog Cafe" in Vivocity. Total damage... SGD53. (Photos taken with mobile camera).

Mine: Linguini in Creamy Sauce topped with Salmon bits

His: BBQ Pork

Ours: Hot Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Icecream

His: Strawberry Smoothie

Mine: Mango Smoothie, signature drink
Well.. the meal is simple and nice. Very fulfilling. The ambience is not bad. Quiet, but I bet when it is lunch or dinner time, it will be quite noisy. We took our dinner at around 4.30pm. I do not mind coming back here again. The signature drink is very nice. Unfortunately, I can't take dairy, so the effect was horrible for 2 days (err... need not me to mention what I had).

RAM upgraded

I just got back from Sim Lin towers and I got my RAM upgraded from 512M to 2G. It costs me SGD40 (SGD20 each for 1G RAM). My processor can only support 1Gx2 as it is the old model, which I bought this notebook in the beginning of year 2006. I cannot believe that 2 years old is already considered old. Where can I get so much money to get the latest or updated electronic devices??? Hmm...

When the guy opened the back cover of my notebook to swap the ram, I just kept my mouth shut because of the dust covering the board. Gosh.. internally my notebook is quite dirty, which I never realise because I couldn't care less to open it and clean it. I tried to upgrade it to 2Gx2 but then my notebook could not start up. So I have to downgrade to 1Gx2. :-( but then it is better than 256Mx2 lor...

Anyways, now I am in Starbucks, Plaza Singapura and my startup for my notebook is quite fast. Yay.. means that I can watch movies or play games faster.. yay... Now I cannot complaint that my notebook is slow.. just can complain about the internet line.. haha...

So next time if the internet line is fast and I am still complaining that my notebook is slow, then it is time to upgrade my notebook. Haha... but no money lor because economy is downturn and I got pay-cut. Sob sob.

Monday Blues on a Public Holiday

It is 8-December-08 alright and it is a Monday. Why on earth am I waking up so damn early on a public holiday? God knows why... I guess my "clock" is really set for work. Dang...

Anyways, I had a fun time during the weekend but I have not upload any pics yet. So, bare to wait for awhile before I start posting my 2-day trip to few places. :-)
