Home Sweet Home

More furnitures have arrived. Finally it has arrived. Our home sweet home is halfway achieved.

Below is where the dining set is supposed to be. It is so empty but so easy to clean.

The curtain arrived 2 days before the dining set and coffee table. Bunny chose the color cause he says it needs to be lighter than the furniture so that it will brighten up the day. I so agree with bunny but I prefer a bighter color than that shade but well... he picks it, I accept it (except what is in the kitchen, it is off limit from him). This is before the coffee table. Also another pointer of easy to clean.

This is the uncle that helps to install our dining table. So hardworking (we paid the delivery fee ok...!)

Our dining chairs. Black and white concept by bunny. I don't really like the set but he likes it, so his choice again. I only like the color. Have to be compromising in a marriage (give and take concept).

The complete view of the whole piece placed. Now we can have our meals on proper dining set and not on our make-shift table out of a big box.

Bunny so hardworking cleaning the coffee table. Look at how "ah pek" he is.. hahaha... but I don't blame him as it is so hot nowadays. If I can do so, I will but I can't.

Our complete living room with the coffee table (minus the wall feature. Now the tv console is a makeshift from my computer table).

Bunny captured this of me moping the room. I actually vacuumed the whole house before the furniture came in. Once the furnitures are in placed, then I mopped. Gosh, I looked so fat from the back.

This is how the chairs will be when I am cleaning the house.

Tada... That is the first meal on the dining set but our 4th meal in this house. How romantic. Hahaha... yellow light, (no candles) but a good healthy meal for bunny.

Our living room after cleaning and tiding the place. The "computer table" where the notebook is placed is actually a dining chair piece which bunny used it as a computer table. Brilliant idea but a really expensive computer table.

This is us after all the hardwork and before we headed to Takashimaya to get our dining dishes. We got ourselves a Correlle set. Someone gave us Takashimaya voucher for our wedding "angpow" and now we used it for this purchase. Not a bad idea to give vouchers but then again, cash is the best. :)

Will update more on our home once more things are placed...

BBQ Pit At My Area

Cool... It's hard to find a pit in SG where it is not private housing.

And we have 3!

3 blue little shelters. The green goss or netting you see is the current constructing overhead bridge that will lead to a new park which is by the river.

And we have an open air court...

Nice recreational activities but question is.... Will we ever utilize it since now we know there is a BBQ pit at my place?

Salmon Fillet

My first attempt cooking salmon fillet. Triumph!

I used steaming method which I learn from the Phillips Steamer Recipe. I bought this steamer for the purpose of eating mantao but I ended up cooking salmon fillet.

Link to steamer by Philips.

I follow exactly the way of how to cook but not the exact vegetables as recommended but the seasoning/herbs are the same.

Link to the recipe.
Just type "Steamed salmon with green vegetables" and you can get this wonderful recipe.

I steamed the rice in the steamer too and its not too bad. The only thing I think I can improve is that I should put less water with the amount of rice I cooked cause the rice turned out too soft but I like it cause easy to swallow. :) The salmon turned out perfect. A good way to learn how to cook salmon if this is your first time.

The outlook dinner display.

Bunny was delighted with the dinner.

Note: No dining table yet, so took a large box and makeshift as a table, my runner as a table cloth, no dining dishes yet so used a metal plate as dishes. No wine (I don't really drink wine) so replace with healthy juice which has similar color to red wine.

Kuching CNY

We took a long time just to reach Kuching from Changi because we took the flight from Changi to KL LCCT then KL LCCT to Kuching. Yes, very tiring... but it was worth it cause I get to be back as a wife, DIL and SIL. I was busy with my new family that I did not have time to meet my Kuching friends.

Here I was waiting for our next flight to Kuching.

Below are some random pictures I took while in Kuching.

A random lonely pigeon I saw by the side of the road. It was raining and the pigeon was left alone without any shade. So pitiful when I saw this.

Pullman... I manage to visit this place for the first time. I did my hair here. This is the latest hotel in Kuching.

The Spring is the biggest mall in Kuching. I can say this place is nice but messy. It's not so organized and not east accessible to certain places within the building.

This is how truck/jeep owners park their car if they cannot find a suitable parking spot or indirectly trying to save the parking fee. Cheapskates!

My bunny's frustrated/angry look because of the traffic and humid weather.

The dimsum I ate at The Spring, which costed us about RM30.

Coconut dessert. Very hard jelly texture but flavoured is good.

The usual choices in dimsum.

Durian flavoured puff. I prefer SG's cause more durian paste in it.

Famous baolo pao. Prefer the original one from Macao/Hong Kong.

Custard pao. My favourite because I love custard.

Look at the filling inside it. Juicy!!

I will upload more pictures which is more CNY mood.

New Hair Do Post CNY

I have been contemplating to do a new hair do. I wanted easy maintenance and neat looking. I didn't want short hair. No color. No curly hair like my previous hairstyle for 5 years.

I decided to do it in Kuching because it is cheaper. Haha.. I am so cheapskate!!! Well, I am trying to save $$ here.

My hair before the whole process... Before the chemical and the cutting.. Gosh, I looked so chubby here...

Here is bunny relaxing while getting his hair washed and waiting for me...

And here my hair do after 2 hours...

Not much different after straightening it.. I still look chubby!!! Dang....

CNY Flight AK704 & AK5218

To have cheap flight, Bunny manage to book for 2 pax at SGD400 but it comes with a catch... SG-KL (Lcct) and KL (Lcct)-KCH. In between flight, we have to wait for about 4 hours...

And my expression is....

Sleepy, tired and frustrated!!! Even my pores are so obvious!!!! I wokeup at 640am to pack and I left my lipgloss back home. Lucky I have my Vaseline to moist my lips and ack as a lipgloss but it's not as shiny as I want it to be.

Anyways my flight from SG-KL was delayed due to my plane was eyeing to take off. Changi somehow operated with one runway only. We queued for almost 40 minutes before we actually took off. It was a cool experience to witness a landing at a very closeup view. My seat was facing the starting point of the runway. Scary thoughts suddenly came through my mind because of Final Destination!!! But thank God we took off and landed safely. I guess Airasia area very professional team.

I have been living in SG for about 3 years and too adapted to the fast pace that when I reached KL, I totally felt a big difference. It was a much slower pace eventhough KL is a city!! Haha.. So you can imagine how fast SG is in every single way.

Happy Tiger Year to all my readers!!! Let the roar be with you....

Rest and Relax

This is how bunny rests and relax... By chatting. Haha... As usual, chatting with his colleagues.

Haha.. The green cloth is actually my sofa runner which I purchased long time ago when I first came Sg because I easily feel cold, so I use it to keep myself warm. Since we have moved in, we do not have curtains that fit our window. As a temporary method, I makeshift the runner as a "curtain" so that it is not glaring while watching tv. Honestly it does not help that muh but at least less glaring.

We are planning to get curtains or the living room but we are still deciding where to get it from. I want to sew our own curtain but bunny does not trust my sewing skill. Hmm.....

Reclining Session

So it is finally here. No more seating on the floor to watch tv... Yay...

This is the L-shape sofa we bought in December 2009 but only came last night. It has an extension feature for the shorter sofa area. Just have to pull it out. All seats are extended in length, so overall it looks huge but it's so comfortable cause it's so spacious. I don't have to fight with Hubby on space on our sofa. His favourite portion is the L-shape area and my favourite part is squeezing with him on the L-shape area. I guess the L-shape is the most used area of the entire sofa. Hahaha...

If you notice the notebook on the floor, it is 15 inch monitor. So, you can imagine how long the sofa is. Now we are contemplating whether to get a coffee table cause it might make the living room too cramp. Well, I guess we should seek advise from the interior designer that we might engage for the TV console-wall feature renovation.

We chose this dark brown/coffee color because of it gets dirty, it is not so noticeable. Of course we love white but I am not that hardworking to clean/maintain the white sofa all the time. Washing the toilet and maintaining the living room can already give me backache. I don't want the sofa to add longer backache!

Spinning Mop

Well, when it comes to cleanliness, I am very particular how clean can my place be. I have been using this sponge mop from 3M since the day I moved in and all I can say that it is not suitable to mop the whole house using this mop. Your back will be aching for a few days.

Though this mop has served me well to mop the whole house but it is really time to get a mop which will help me not to ache my back and hands too. So the 3M mop will be only for toilet purposes as it is good to absorb water.

My new mop is what I can say, a new generation mop.

It comes with a pail, a spinning pedal and spindal for the drying, a clip on mop with a adjustable handle. Though it may not be the famous as-seen-on-tv Spin N Go but it serves the same purpose and it is so much cheaper. This is called Spin N Mop and costs me SGD39.90 (UP $48.80). Spin n Go is $79.90.

How to dry it? Easy....

Place the mop into the spinning area, angle the handle at about 45degree and use your feet to move the pedal so that it can spin. When you spin, the head of the mop will spin too hence dries up the mop. How cool is this invention? Life is much easier in mopping with this gadget.

PS: I have been mopping the floor everyday since we moved in and Hubby has been telling me to slow down with the mopping. He just wants me to rest and relax. No need to do anymore unpacking an cleaning. How sweet!

Enjoying Life As A Typical Housewife

It's fun and exciting as I get to do what I want at my own time.

My breakfast today. This will be my last day on leave after moving into my place.

Yummy!!!

Hard Work Paid Off

Yay... It's cleaned!! I have been cleaning since Saturday and now I feel it is clean.. Free of dusty floor..

The empty living room is now filled with our LCD (which arrived today). That's my notebook on the floor with the fan pointing directly at me cause I am feeling so hot after mopping the floor.

That's the corridor to the rooms. My dirty laundry is piling up. The washer is not ready though it is already in the laundry location. If you can see the reflection of the mirror/glass, that's my room. The red thinggy is my "Patrick". That's what Hubby got me 3 years back. Haha... And now it is with me in our room.

Hope to take more pictures when the house is more organized. It is still in a mess as the unpack is not complete yet.
