Wall Feature and TV Console

I was not feeling well on Friday (yesterday 26-3-2010) and I stayed at home due to my stomach problem that I have been facing since after the CNY till now. Then the doorbell rang and made me puzzled on who could it be on a weekday. Well... It was te contractor who will be going to fix our wall feature and tv console. Finally!!! Yay!!!

The uncle was very hard working. He did everything to a perfect match and the coincidence part is that he is also a Foochow but from Setiawan, Perak. Bunny is also a foochow but from Sibu.

Look at the mess!!! I thought I just cleaned up the house and here it goes messy again. This time round is worse cause of the sawdust landing everywhere in the home. Oh my sofa!!! My dining table!!! All dusty.... :(

This was what accomplished on the first day. Isn't it interesting? I was wondering how it would turned up after the whole thing is up and complete.

Here uncle drilling a hole after a 90% completion. Yeap... Look at the dust!!!! I actually swept the whole house last night eventho I was in pain but because I could not stand the dust everywhere cause it is not healthy... I dustpan the whole house (exclude rooms and kitchen cause I closed the door) slowly while holding my right lower abdomen cause in pain.

Well... Now the whole feature wall is compete minus the wiring. Will post the picture once eveything is complete. When this is complete, then it is the closure for our house renovation. No more renovation anymore. Maybe in future for the built-in cupboard for the rooms but that will be I future. Not so soon....

Cheerio..

Pongteh Dish

I am a Nyonya and I have been wanting to cook peranakan food ever since I am in Singapore. Kinda miss home cook food. Finally with a home, I get to cook whatever I want. I decided to start with something simple to give me a kick start in peranakan food.

I decided on Pongteh. It is a simple dish and it is also easy to do.
Needs only 3 ingredients (garlic, onion & tauchio). Rest are for flavour.

Anyone who wants the recipe, do leave me a comment. Simple dish yet very delicious. It is best eaten with Sambal Belacan, but I didn't make any cause I cannot find "belanca" in Singapore yet... Will try to hunt for one if not will ask someone to "import" it for me from Malaysia.

Artistical Concept

Never knew bunny has artistic mind. He is good in photography and also in decoration. Haha.. if you ask me, I will just have the vase with flowers only. Of course the original idea of candles are mine as I always light up the candles when I am in the bathroom.

Decorations in master-room toilet was all bunny's masterpiece.

Common toilet is also by him. I never knew he has the sense of interior deco.

Bravo to Bunny. He even took these pictures for me so that I can blog about it. Hahahaha.. so cute... Friends and family, next time when you are here visiting Singapore, drop by and you can see bunny's masterpieces.

Up Close With 161 Driver

This was how close I was when I took the bus back home previously. Had to squeeze like a sandwich. Now I roughly understood how the bus navigating system works.

See the lower controller with many buttons? That is the stops stored in the system. The upper controller is the fare system. Cool huh? I was basically standing beside the driver. How cool is that?!

A Beautiful Phrase From a Blogger Friend

"Love turns men into poets, beauty makes a man romantic."

"Manjah him always. Trust him...give him your trust and he will not break that trust."

"If one cannot trust a wife or husband, I believe why get married in the first place, right?"

Aren't these quotes true?

Thank you my wise blogger friend. Your words will be carved into my memory to remember it all the time.

Spagetthi With Pan Fried Salmon

Today is a day where I decided to try out a meal where I have not done this before and confident that it will be a success.

For the Salmon...
Marinate it with lime and all-seasoning purpose with dill leaves.
Pan Fried till slight golden brown. (Am first time doing this without looking or following any cook book but just trying out of from my artistic cooking mind.. :) )

For the Spagetthi sauce...
I used Preggo Fresh Mushroom Sauce. Added slight sugar to give sweetness to the sauce and more fresh mushrooms.

Brocolli...
Dip in hot boiling water (this time I do it in the spagetthi boiled water so that it blends with the spagetthi and vice versa) for 2-3 minutes.

Simple meal for 2. Bunny loves it!

PS: I wonder he loves it because it is really nice or it is to make me happy because I am his wife.. Hahahaha...

Lunch Meal

Today I cooked fried black pepper chicken wings and fried vegetable.

During frying the chicken, have to make sure the oil is hot and the chicken is free from water/moist. My chicken were not that dry so when it got into the hot oil, it went "pik" "piak" "pik" "piak" all the way. The catastrophe it made my kitchen counter and the surrounding area was atrocious. Astoundingly oily!! Imagine the mess I have to clean?! Mopping is something I hate to do cause lots of tidying to do, but I did the alternative by taking the kitchen towel and sprayed it with floor cleaner and cleaned up the oiliness. The counter and stove were wiped with kitchen towels too... Hahaha... Super lazy housewife!!!

Anyways this is the Mushroom vegetable I cooked.

Our complete meal today as per displayed.

Note: I bought correlle utensils and I like it cause its light weight and easy to wash. It matches my dining set too.

Homemade Chicken Soup

The last time I remember cooking chicken soup was when I was still staying with my brothers and mom in Goodyear Court 8. That was years ago... 10 years?

Anyways now I am cooking again and this time for bunny.

My first attempt in my own home and bunny loves it alot. He ate with delight and content!!

I added crab meat, potatoes and carrot to have some color to brighten up the meal.

Herr are the ingredients.

I purposely capture these herbs so that I can go and buy it again but now supermarkets already prepare it for you. So it easy for those who don't know the name of the herbs in Chinese, you can just hop to the supermarket and but it off the shelf.
