What Drive

***** Warning! Pictures are taken from my mobile phone & no automated "Auto Focus" feature! *****

Ok... This might come as a shock to anyone... I didn't realise this until one of the AA (Admin Assistance) showed it to me...

There is a record book for everyone to fill in when they want to borrow a camera or a thumbdrive in the office. They have to fill in certain particulars....

And this is what I found.... TIME DRIVE... ?????? I thought it should be thumbdrive. Haha... a bunch of engineers in the office and it is called TIME DRIVE? So weird... I wonder if they are really an engineer or not. Surprise! Surprise!

Coin Depositing

I cannot believe this... I went to the bank.. and the queue was so damn long... Too many queues and I just simply asked the officer...

Me : Hi, can I know where is the queue for depositing money? I want to deposit coins.
Officer : Oh the queue is here (pointing to the line) but madam [shit... do I look that old to be called madam?] we only accept coins on every Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Me : Huh? Hmm.. then can I know which other branches accept coins today? Does the branch in Vivocity accept coins?
Officer : Err, I am not sure. Let me call the hotline and let the officer there speak to you.
Me : ~!@#$%........ [in my heart!]

... waiting for the officer to dial the hotline... then passes me the phone...

Me : hello... sorry.. I can't hear you because it is too noisy here... hello??? hello???
Officer [on the other end of the line] : bla bla bla.... no, Harbour Front does not accept coins too for today. In fact, we do not accept coins on Saturday, madam. Only Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Me : Oh... Then do you have a coin deposit machine somewhere so that I can deposit my coins?
Officer [on the other end of the line] : No madam, we do not have any coin deposit machines at all.
Me : ~!@#$%........ [in my heart again!] ... Ok, never mind. Thanks. [Hang up the phone].

..... I really was quite disappointed with OCBC. No such service, no coin deposit machines. Nevertheless, I went to another bank, POSB. While I was queing, this young officer [looks like a boy!!!!!] approached me and asked me if he could help me...

Officer (boy) : Hi! Good morning madam. How can I help you?
Me : !@#$%^&... [in my hear again... do I look that old?????!!!!] I am here to deposit my coins..
Officer (boy) : We only accept coin deposits on every Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Me : !!!!! Then how can I deposit my coins when I am working from Monday to Fridays? Why no such service on Saturdays?
Officer (boy) : Sorry, madam. This is the regulation.
Me : !@#$%^&..... [in my heart again...].. You know where or how I can deposit my coins?
Officer (boy) : Well madam.. you can go to the coin deposit machine located at the other entrance of Metro.
Metro is a shopping giant like Jusco, Isetan....
Me : Ok. [smiling in my heart....]

I walked away from the bank and searched the coin deposit machine....
When I arrived at the machine, I looked puzzle. Haha.. this is my first time ever doing coin depositing... As I read the instructions, it mentioned that I will be charged for a depositing fee.... it is a small amount... SGD0.00075.... oklar, I looked at the figure it is not too bad.... small amount of fee will be incurred.

After I got the receipt... then it shows that it is really not worth to do coin depositing on the machine... 1 coin was rejected, so only 199 coins got through. But the fee is SGD1.49. Dang..... I only manage to save SGD197.51.... Not worth it... I would rather use up all the coins....

I wonder if I will get charged if I manage to deposit coins on either a Tuesday or Thursday over the counter???? What a reap off from the bank. Here we are trying to save money but they charge us coin depositing fee. Isn't this discouraging us from the saving habit??? One does wonder....

Sikit-sikit, Lama-lama, Jadi Bukit

Remember what our teacher told us when we were young, fresh and innocent? Save money into the piggy bank. Haha... honestly to tell you the truth, I never did have any piggy bank when I was little. You can ask my brothers, they will say I am very spendthrift.

As I grew older & wiser I learnt that savings is important. Any kind of savings is good. Be it little or a large amount, it is still savings. It was difficult at the beginning but when it was a norm daily, it became a habit. So, I started this savings where I keep all the 1-dollar coins.

I started this since I was in Kuching... and when I came to Singapore, I continue this habit and now my savings have additional money. Haha.. oklar, not alot but at least it is a good start. Of course, this is not the way to save money. We are now in a modern society, there are many ways to save money. This 1-dollar coin collection is just a habit to beat me up into a saving habit. At least now that I have started and continue this till I have kids of my own, then at least I can tell them how mummy saved money and this is one of the methods. Must plant the saving seeds into the child when they are young....

I manage to keep around SGD203 since the beginning of this year... is that alot? I think not. Good leh.. haha... I am proud of myself. I am banking this today... ok, I am off to the bank now or else I have to postpone it another week... Adios... till the next blog update...

Which Do I Want

Today is such a hectic day. Was quite busy in office but manage to feel relaxed because I was in control and no matter how tough the day was, the bottome line is that I was in control. When I reached home, I felt refreshed after accomplishing my run (hey... its an effort I am making great progress day by day and I am proud of it! Never had I been so focused into exercising. Haha...). Felt so energetic. Took my shower after I cooled myself down but when I opened my cupboard, I was so damn shocked of the amount of perfumes I have. Oklar... I do not mean to show off lor.... but then it is quite alot.

My fragrances are ranged from affordable price to a little over the budget. Haha... My latest collection is from Burberry. My first perfume is actually Flower by Kenzo (see the tiny bottle with a flower imprint on it? Yeap... that is the one). When I went to Hong Kong early this year, I bought 2 fragrances; Diamond by Armani & cannot-remember-the-name by Ralph Lauren (the turqoius cap). The last purchase of perfume that I got for myself is Green Tea by Elizabeth Arden which I got it when I went to Kuching recently. Gosh... I miss my family. I miss my niece....
Ok, sorry for being off-track....
Girls can never get enough of perfumes. Tell me which girl has only 1 perfume?? I think non. At least 2 perfumes. Among my collection, my favourite perfume is actually Armani Code. Why? It has a sentimental meaning behind it... my first Valentines' present from someone.. *blushing*.... I love to have few frangrances so that I have options on how I want to feel for the day. At least frangrances helps to boosts oneself confidence. Take note that not all fragrances suits everyone. The perfume actually has to react to your skin so that the chemical reaction gives out the true smell.... So, basic way of getting a perfume for yourself is to pump a little perfume to your wrist, wait a little while and smell it. At least this is how I tests them... and I will always get parfum or perfume because it lasts longer. Another way is to spray them on yourself over the counter and walk away so that the perfume gets use to your body. If you like it, always go back to the counter and purchase them.

Spontaneously

Today is Sunday, the first day of the week which is an off-day for normal working people like me. There wasn't anything left for me to do at home. Laundry was completed yesterday (except ironing.. shit.. I still need to do ironing.. haha)... but of course staying at home can be pretty bored after trying to kill my time by going online since morning till noon with no motives... tried to watch movie at home but everything has been watched >10x... so what else can I do?

So....... I spontaneously went to Orchard. I even told my brother Aaron that I dislike going to Orchard. Honestly, I do not really like to go Orchard because it is quite crowded. I prefer less crowded area but tell me where in SG is not crowded during the weekends? Even the family malls (malls in housing area) are also crowded... But nevertheless I reluctantly got myself dressed and grabbed the camera & wristlet out for the day....

Honestly, there isn't much to snap in Orchard. Nothing caught my attention to take a shot... But as I was walking to Dhoby Ghout Interchange MRT, I stumbled upon this uncle by the side of the walkway playing the chinese violin. Seriously, I have no idea whether to say he can play the violin or not because I cannot make any tune out of what he played and he even sang at the same time but I couldn't understand a single bit of what he sang (sounds to me he was murmuring only)... but heck cares, I just took a snapshot of him because he looks so talented playing the chinese violin for a person of an elderly age.

Yeap..... that was pretty much of what I saw in Orchard. I wanted to take the view of the busy streets in Orchard but from where I stand, not a very nice shot at all.... So, I just continue walking till I reached Plaza Singapura. Feeling famish & thirsty from the blazing heat, I ended up eating this at BRATWURST SHOP in basement#2......

(Purely cheese topping)

(Added chilli sauce & mustard sauce)

Cheese sausage with chilli beef sauce..... Yummy... Damage? SGD8.15 for a combo set, came with a drink and a small packet of Ruffles... err.... not worth the price to get a combo set but if it is just the sausage, it is reasonable....

Bliss, Punggol Park

Having the privilege of not cooking at home allows you to do fine dining. The place we opted for dinner is Bliss at Punggol Park after photography session.

Cream of Mushroom (Soup of the Day)

Ice Rootbeer

Fettucinne Rich Cream topped with Asorted Seafood

Gratin Chicken on Hotplate

Damage is SGD38 for 2. Is it cheap? Affordable? Hmm... once in awhile to have fine dining is quite ok but not on daily basis. All I can say is... I do not mind coming here again since it is near where I live. Muahaha...

Punggol Park, Here I Come!

Today is Saturday and suddenly there wasn't anything to do except laundry. Well, of course I completed my laundry (but ironing & folding clothes will be the next day). So, since laundry is completed, there wasn't really anything else to do. Suddenly PUNGGOL PARK came into our mind for another photography session. Woohoo.. another round of skills brushening...

**** Note that not all pictures are posted in lieu of privacy respect ****

As I was juggling to become the model-cum-photographer at the same time... this sight came to me as an interesting one. I witnessed men are actually enjoying their past time by playing electronic sail. And to my surprised, those men are elderly people. Haha.. so please take note, when age catches, one way to pass time is to do sailing!

Aren't they nice? It is a rare sight to see this sails sailing on the pond....

And... TAI CHI.. haha.. I think this lady friend of the uncle's is helping him to do a TAI CHI video. It is quite interesting to witness something extraordinary.

The park is quite a small park but compare to many parks I have been (be it Kuching, Melaka or KL), Punggol Park is not small but you can say it is among the smallest throughout Singapore. A stroll of the entire park takes you around 30 minutes. Is 30 minutes long? I guess not too... but you can try walking whole ECP, then you know 30 minutes is short.

What Is In My Handbag?

Haha... when I saw this title in my SIL's blog, I was also wondering. You know how ladies are... they have alot of "rubbish" in their handbag. The bigger the bag, the more things are inside.

Here are the rules.

Find a safe quiet place free of significant others, nosey meme makers, priests, nuns, all things religious and men in general. (If you're a guy just reverse this process to male and tell us about your wallet, tool box, briefcase or metro sexual accessory.)

1.. Dump the contents of your handbag in a pile.
2. Take a photo of your handbag and the contents.
3. Be brave and 'splain to your fellow bloggers what lurks inside the handbag.
4. Tag others who might want to embarrass themselves
5. Answer these questions:
Describe the contents of your handbag.
What's the most important thing in your handbag?
What's the most embarrassing thing in your handbag?
What's the smallest thing in your handbag?
Is there anything illegal in your handbag?

Anyways, here is a peek to mine....

These are what in my handbag...

And these are what is inside my wristlet... (more rubbish... hahahaha...)

Describe the contents of your handbag.

Wristlet, PSP, 2 packet of tissues (got backup if one packet is almost finish), mirror, keys, lipgloss, mouth-refreshener, hair clip, dog-tag, liner (err.... hygienic purpose lar..), MRT card (which is inside the smaller Coach compartment) & fengshui items (which is inside a transparent bag. Well, my mom asked me to carry it along with me wherever I go..)

In the wristlet will be money (dual currency), coin pouch, thumbdrive, membership cards, ATM cards, tissue (again!!), discount coupons & ATM slips.

PS: Mobile & i-pod shuffle is not inside due to both items are currently charging.. hehe....

What's the most important thing in your handbag?

Wristlet, PSP, i-pod shuffle & mobile phone.

What's the most embarrassing thing in your handbag?

Haha... panty liner. I guess most girls will have this in their bag, I know my SIL does, *chuckles*.

What's the smallest thing in your handbag?

Smallest thing ar..... thumbdrive I guess. Next to it will be my i-pod shuffle.

Is there anything illegal in your handbag?

Yeiks... if there is, would I be announcing it here? To tell you the truth, there isn't any (but who would tell the truth here right?).

Anyways, I will pass this on to my friend Faith and Rach.

For those who are dropping by to read this blog, you are welcome to do the same... copy the tag & do what I just did......

Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road?

Haha.. when I first read this email from my brother Aaron, I find it interesting because of the names listed at the beginning. Whatever it is stated based on the names, are all so true. Then as I scrolled down, I find it hillarious. Maybe you will find it too..... (Malaysian's might understand what I mean...)

BARACK OBAMA : The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a CHANGE! The chicken wanted CHANGE!

JOHN MCCAIN : My friends, that chicken crossed the road because it recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road.

HILLARY CLINTON : When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure -- right from Day One! -- that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cross the road. But then, this really isn't about me.......

GEORGE W. BUSH : We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road or not. The chicken is either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.

JOHN LENNON : Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing the road together, in peace.

BILL GATES : I have just released eChicken2008, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your check book. Internet Explorer is an integral part of the Chicken. This new platform is much more stable and will never cra...#@&&^(C% .......... reboot.

BILL CLINTON : I did not cross the road with THAT chicken. What is your definition of chicken? AL GORE:Chicken shall not shit while crossing the road. This is for a green environment.

LEE KUAN YEW : We have installed crossing lights at all traffic junctions. All chickens should follow instructions while crossing the road.

SAMY VELLU : Gantry points have been set up. All chickens wanting to cross the road are advised to top up their cash cards first.

NAJIB RAZAK : What chickens? I don't know any chickens... especially those from Mongolia.

ABDULLAH BADAWI : We have to be fair to all chickens. Some want to cross over the road, some do not. ........ Zzzzzz .......zzzzzz ....... Now what were we talking about? Ah yes, chickens. We will form a Royal Commission to decide whether it is right for them to cross the road.

MAHATHIR : Now even non-bumi chickens want to cross the road! How can they disrespect and disregard apa nama bumi chickens? We must be allowed to cross over first. It is our special privilege and no one can challenge that!

ANWAR : We have enough chickens waiting to cross over in September.

SHAHRIR:All foreign chickens are welcome in Malaysia but they must not cross over the road within 50km of the border.

So you see, Malaysians might understand how I feel.... a true statement based on just one simple question... "Why did the chicken cross the roas?"

Huh?

What does it looked like? Use your imagination.

It is actually a cement patch of a hole on the ground.

Browsing Thru My Mobile Picture

**** Warning ****
**** Pictures taken with camera phone. Image might not be good quality ****

This was dinner at Sakae Sushi, White Sands Mall, Pasir Ris. The usual one-of-the-dinner choices were our picked on New Years' Day... As you know Sakae Sushi is a famous japanese food-chain in Singapore, Malaysia, Phillippines and many more.

Their trade mark is that they have a monitor screen at every dining table so that customers can pick-choose-order online. While the customer is dining and in idle mode, the monitor will go in screen-saver mode... and the advertisements will be displayed.... Here are part of the slides...

The frog is the trade mark.... isn't it cute??

Outlet at Queensbay Mall, Penang. Honestly, I do not know where this outlet is in Penang but I think it is at the Penang Walk.

Bangsar Village II, KL.

Subang Parade, Singapore. Wait a minute.. Singapore? Subang Parade in Singapore? I thought it is in Subang Jaya, Selangor... Anyways, one honest mistake which can be done by anyone. No one is perfect but I am just wondering, doesn't anyone cross-check the slide before actually approved it for advertising? But seriously.. who can honestly make such mistake when you are typing Subang Parade, Singapore?? Doesn't that person who did this slide knows that Singapore does not have a place called Subang Parade??? Go figure.....

New Pairs

Haha.... yeap... I went shoe shopping, right after I came back from Kuching (same day), the day where my brother Aaron came to Singapore and yesterday. I suddenly got into the mood of doing shoe shopping. Ok, I will get to the total amount I have burnt in my savings account but well, I am happy I got new pairs of shoes.

White sandals from Pedal Works to replace my old white sandals which looks similar. I so-called destroyed the old white pair back in Kuching and now it is in my office locker as a backup sandals. This costs me SGD39.

Shiny Black Open-toe heels from Pedal Works. Bought together with the white sandals (above). Costed me SGD49. Yea yea... spent alot but then it has a sexy look.

Bronze pumps from Primavera. Recently, Primavera is having clearance sale and I just bumped into the shop and bought myself 4 pairs. Haha.. yeap.. 4 pairs.... This pump is quite nice because it suits my jeans or brown pants. I remembered that when my ex-colleague Rina bought 1 pair from Taiwan which has a similar color, I remembered telling her that it is weird cause it looks like a pair of shoes where the chinese burns incense offerings to the god... and Rina told me that she disagree and it is nice, I will come around to love this color. Well, after I bought it, I totally agreed with Rina. It is nice. I have to thank her for opening my eyes to bronze color. Ok, this shoe costs me SGD19.

Brown heels. It is around 2 inches high. After wearing it to office, the front part is a little aching to my little toe. Well, the pain can be corrected with spot corrector that you can purchase it from any pharmacies. You are not going to believe me if I tell you that this shoe costs me SGD9 only. Haha.. a good purchase.

Grey Heels. Also around 2 inches high, it is very comfortable to wear. It is sexy... Costs me around SGD30.

Silk Brown Open-toe heels.. my latest purchase. Costs me SGD39. Very comfortable.... I might wear this to my brother's (Jason) wedding this November, provided I get a Gold or Ivory dress for the wedding theme as per request from Michelle, future SIL.

Bought this open-toe shoe while shopping with Rina. Costed me SGD9 only but honestly, this shoes is not comfortable after wearing it longer.

Ok... now the counting of total amount... how much I burnt my pocket... 5 pairs = SGD185. It is almost SGD200 but 5 pairs???? Well, to me is so much worth it. At least I can have longer life-span to my shoes cause I can change it everyday rather than wearing 1 pair for daily usage.

Old Pairs

Imagine having old pairs of shoes, I don't feel good about it... haha.. girls just want new pairs or things all the time to feel good. Well, as I was cleaning my shoe-closet I suddenly realize that I need new pairs. Well, here are my old pairs, just to share.....

My 1st gold pair of sandals. Introduced by the shoe-sales person and it does suit my feet because it is comfortable and there is a spongy feeling. Bought it from Pedal Works, Simei. It costed me around SGD49. It is expensive but then it does look nice on my feet. Pedal Works are suitable for people like me because my feet is Size-9 and it is not easy for me to find shoes that is comfortable to my feet.

My black pair of heels. I bought it from Vincci, KL way back in year 2004. I only used it for dinner functions. I think, if I am not mistaken, only wore it less than 10 times. Costed me around RM59. Wore it around 10 times and lasted me for around 4-years, not bad to save money eh...

My black flats. Also bought it together with my black heels (top). Costed me around RM39. See the thin black strap at the side of the shoe? Well, I modified it by replacing it with black ribbons. The reason is because I work in a wafer-fab environment where I have to take my shoes off. In this kind of environment, I need to be quick in removing/wearing my shoes. So by replacing it with ribbons, it is much faster to change shoes to the booties (a protective shoes only worn in CLEANROOM environment). It does give a feminie look on the flats. Maybe I should try white or ivory color ribbons to give a contrast look.

Black court heels. It has a conservative look because it is rounded at the front and broad heels at the back. Honestly, when I first wore it, it gave me a professional look but after awhile, it made me looked aunty. But what the heck, I do not wear it as often as I thought I would. Haha.. It costed me SGD69 from Pedal Works. Not cheap eh... I would rather buy Hush Puppies as it has a more modern looking pairs than this. Or maybe my taste is old-school or tasteless???? Haha... who knows....

My Surprises from Taiwan

Well, after being apart from my bunny, I finally get to be with my bunny. To my surprise, I got a gift. Haha... ok, not to be a show-off but it is really a surprise to me cause normally I would buy such things on my own cause it is not cheap. Most of my bags are bought by myself because I am working and I can by whatever the price it costs.. (the advantage of working on your own...).

When I reached home, I saw this on my table.. but I moved it on the bed cause it looks much nicer with my new quilt cover set which mom helped me to bring it from Malacaa (the backdrop).

(Bag from Taiwan, perfume from airport)

Quite a surprise to me... haha.. well, it is small but it does mean alot to me cause the thoughts that counts and he always doesn't want me to waste money on such things. But he bought it for me so it does matters alot to me... Hehe, he made my day. Now I use it to place my MRT card inside.. Haha.. swipe with style...
